The Islander sails like a dream!

September 26, 2011

My sailing friend John and I had the Hinkley Islander out Sunday and he and I are very impressed with her sailing ability! She is rock solid accelerates fast on the lightest breeze, and is a pleasure to sail!

Jesse was out on his Bristol 32 and we had to keep her slowed down so as not to make them look really bad. We had a southerly wind about 5 to 6 and up to about 8 or 9, so we know the Bristol would come into her own about 15 to 20, but I think the Islander will do well in this wind also! Look for pictures to come, I found this one from the Sparkman & Stephens site I hope you like it!

Cape Dory Typhoon Daysailor !

September 12, 2011

Classic updated Alberg designed Cape Dory Typhoon Day-Sailor!                        $ 18,000.

Not to be confused with the weekender, this boat has no accommodations for sleeping, what she does have is a spacious comfortable cockpit for sailing! We sailed her as our personal boat this summer and as with any of the Alberg’s she sails like a dream!

One day we had 6 adults and our Golden retriever out ( this was a full boat ) but she handled this well!

She has been lightly  modified to resemble a wood boat, with her dark green topsides, the mast painted to look like a wood mast, wood boom, recent tanbark colored sails. She is being offered with a fresh coat of green Alex seal paint ( the new updated Awlgrip )  and a maintenance coat of varnish.

Also a low hour 4 stroke 6 horse power Suzuki outboard,

and a new custom Northeast Sailboat Rescue, Maine made trailer!

Santana 525 Race Boat

November 26, 2010

This is a great competitive boat, she has tons of great sails, interior cushions, motor mount with 4 HP Johnson outboard. The boat did sit in a boatyard for a while as the original owner has health issues, and has just decided it was time for her to go.  Their is some peeling paint and damaged plywood on the interior  that need to be addressed, also the halyard’s may need replacing. We hope to get her up and running for the spring season, and will offer her with a new Sailboat Transporter trailer. As is she is listed at                        $ 4,950.

Alberg Commander, this is the same hull as the Ariel, 25′ 10″  but with a huge 10′ long cockpit, and a smaller cabin. The cabin is capable of sleeping 4  with a galley and marine head. Sea Lark is in original condition, other then: New CDI Flexi Furl rollerfurling with a North 3DL Kevlar jib and a one season Doyle main sail with 2 full battens and 2 partial. Included is a 9.9 Evenrude motor with electric start and charging, this motor came to us with low hours and had been a fresh water motor that runs great!  Lots of basic gear also included: Anchor with rode, fenders and dock lines, swim ladder ETC. The gel coat is original light green and is crazed, she is fine but does not shine, and could use a paint job to be in Bristol condition! This boat sails Great and points very high. Most of us day-sail and the spacious cockpit make her a great boat for taking out a group of  6 to 8 friends.  This boat is one of the true classics and getting harder to find in good original condition!
